THE BAND

Mike Reynolds
// Rhythm Guitar
One of the least experienced guitarists with the band but always learning.
My first music experience was playing the tea chest at a primary school leaving party.
The flower power/prog rock years had me listening to Cream, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix and the Who, to name a few. Life intervened until retiring at 60 when, with nothing stopping me, except myself, a friend bought me a cheap guitar which led to me taking lessons and then building my own guitars from scratch (4 and counting)
A conversation with Martin lead to starting the band up under the auspice of the U3A and Mu3aC was born. We have now moved on from the u3a with the band renamed MUZAK

Roger Peyley
// Drums
I Started out purely as a percussionist but have developed into the drummer as our original drummer John unfortunately died in 2022.
Having retired as a Chartered Surveyor it gave me the time to pursue some hobbies. Always being a music fan tried my hand at Samba drumming then progressed to playing with Mu3ac (Now Muzak)

Martyn Young
//Vocals
Since Retiring in 2016 I have been mostly spending my time with music based activities. I joined this band with no experience apart from a very short time while at school age 15 before exams became more important.
I also played Bugle in a marching band, in a youth organisation, the Church Lads and Girls Brigade, based in St Pauls in Cheltenham, where I was a member from the age of 13 to about 55. I now spend my time singing with MUZAC and also 2 Ukulele Bands, the Cotswold Male Voice Choir and my Church

Keith Parks
// Keyboard, Guitar & Harmonica
I Taught myself to play guitar when 15 years old in the 60’s. I played in bands in Wantage and Colchester. After a long gap I started playing in bands around Malvern in 2004.
I currently play rhythm guitar with the Pontiacs in Malvern and another band as well as MUZAC. (formally Mu3aC)
My musical tastes are quite varied and as far as playing is concerned I’ll have a go at pretty much anything I can manage. I like variety
I also sing with the Pax singers and I am a member of the Bosbury Players.

Martin Thornley
// Lead Guitar
I have had a guitar since I was at school and have long been an enthusiast for all sorts of music.
I was in a band in Ipswich as a teenager, but neglected my guitar for many years.
When I retired I spotted that the Cheltenham U3A had a rock and blues group (known as Rebus) and joined them in 2012 and play with them regularly.
I enthusiastically joined in setting up the new MUZAK (formally Mu3aC) band, making music, making friends and occasionally making some money for various charities.

Dave Thomas
// Bass
I have only been playing for a short time but have developed into the bass player for the group. I have always liked music, particularly blues. After listening to the Mike Raven Blue Show as well as John Peel, a mid life crisis led me to aspire to playing bass guitar. I Joined MUZAK (formerly Mu3ac) after seeing an advert for them and have been learning and playing with them ever since.
